A number of readers have asked about the reality of a RDD (Radiological Dispersal Device, aka as Dirty Bomb, being used by terrorist factions in the US. Read page 137 in the Epiphany Deception.
"The dirty bomb combines a conventional explosive, such as dynamite, fuel or fertilizer, with a radioactive material. This is not a nuclear bomb because there is no energy created from fusing or splitting an atom. The power of this dirty bomb is to create a massive conventional explosion that disperses the radioactive particles into a wide pattern. It is the widespread panic and fear along with the radioactive contamination that makes this low-cost bomb so terrifying. Cesium-137 can be normally used in the medical field to destroy cancerous cells in the human body. This radioactive element has a half-life of 30 years so as the isotope "decays" from its radioactive state, the isotope emits gamma radiation. These waves of ultra-high electromagnetic energy, while not as dangerous as the heavier, alpha particle emitted by uranium, travel further, and are extremely difficult to contain. One unique characteristic of cesium is that it is the most reactive radioactive metal. In its natural state, cesium is always found combining with other elements. The isotope becomes easily attached to bricks, roofing materials, concrete, and soil. If it were to be dispersed by a powerful explosion along with prevailing winds, an entire city could be contaminated. Once a city's buildings and structures are contaminated, it becomes nearly impossible to cleanse the radioactive cesium off. The dirty bomb does not cause a large area of destruction, but creates an immense area of disruption. In the blink of an eye, a once thriving city can be transformed into a "dead zone" for decades."
Here is one current reference from the Telegraph - UK regarding this threat- more
